The princess has been asking for years if she could swim on a swim team and this year we were finally able to make it happen. She had her first swim meet this week and I'm pretty sure she had the time of her life. She swam 4 events, 200 m Free Relay, 200 m Medley Relay (Breast), 50 m backstroke, and 50 m freestyle. While she's been in the water her whole life the actual structure of a swim meet and the technical aspects were pretty most on her until just recently.
Her first relay team finished 2nd, her second relay finished 2nd but got DQ'd. She finished 4th in the 50 m backstroke and 7th in the 50 m freestyle. Not all bad for a first time swimmer. She loves being in the water and seems to thrive being at the pool. I don't think she even noticed she was at the pool for over 5 hours on Tuesday night for the swim meet. Her brother noticed!
