Christmas 2011

This has been an interesting Christmas.  For the most part we have been running an infirmary between our kids and even myself for a short while.  But in the midst of it all we all managed to be healthy for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

This was one of those years that comes around every 6 or 7 years that requires Doug to work for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  That meant that we had to rearrange some of our normal routines, but both kids adapted really well.

This year we pulled off a big Santa surprise by putting together a 20 gallon aquarium for both the kids to enjoy. It had been the #1 item on the princesses Christmas list.  Of course Little Man didn't get much say in his Christmas presents this year, but I think he was no worse for wear!

We were able to be well enough to enjoy a Christmas Dinner with my grandmother and my aunt which was lots of fun.  The kids were excited to have new faces to see their Christmas loot.

The kids both got their new Christmas pjs and for one small second we actually got them both to sit still and look like they love each other!

The princess is moving into that in between stage where she's not completely into toys, but still needs a few to keep her busy.  After the fish her 2nd biggest request was an i-pod.  She got her wish, but only through the generosity of my friend who gave us an i-pod shuffle that was rarely used in her house.  She spent most of Christmas night and the days that followed walking around the house with earbuds in and tuning us out! She also got some new running clothes since she seems to really enjoy her new hobby.

Notice that she already has the earbuds and is checking out the music that I loaded for her!

This is the second "American Girl" doll she has gotten.  These little girls are her students and she had this one out of the box and set up in the classroom before the day was over.  If she does not grow up to be a teacher I will be absolutely shocked!
