Just keeps getting better!

It's that time again!  Last night was the Father/Daughter Dance!  And don't think that this night was pulled off by one afternoon of planning, no this is an EVENT!!

It started several weeks ago when Doug got in line at 4:30 in the afternoon for door to open at 6:00 to BUY tickets!  I will admit that working at the same place they are selling tickets is an advantage and he was able to jump in the line pretty early.  All together we heard they sold 800 tickets for this year's dance.

Then came the dress shopping!  Wendy took the princess off to Kohl's and they tried on a few dozen dresses while I was barred from entering the dressing room until they had narrowed it down to a 4 or 5!!  It was actually a much quicker process than I thought it would be! I can only hope that dress shopping is this easy in 10 years when we are sending her off to dance with some boy instead of her Daddy!

Then came the nails!  We headed to the salon after school yesterday.  About halfway there I realized that she had yet to utter a word, which usually means she's sleeping, but she was wide awake.  I think she was so excited she didn't know what to say first.  The words started flowing once we sat down for pink nails and they haven't stopped yet!  Even tonight she is still talking non-stop about her fun and she's already planning next year.

Aunt Sarah came to help in the beautification process.  She brought the make-up case that is bigger than my luggage for a weekend at the beach and her talent which is far greater just in her pinky finger than my whole body!

This is the before photo..doesn't look excited at all does she!

See the glitter??

Covering up some of those freckles
Thanks for the curling iron grandmommy

This year we decided to see if we could make the night  even cooler by inviting the princess's best friend and her Dad.  Thankfully Doug was able to procure two extra tickets and the double date was on!  We kept it a secret literally until the moment they walked into our house.  We expected the princess to be bouncing off the walls excited, but actually both girls were so confused by what was going on that they just stood there and stared and each other!

The princess and her best bud!
Yep, Little Man got into the action with his best pjs!

Growing up fast!
All in all, it was another awesome dance night!  Tonight after her basketball game the princess declared this one the best ever!  Doug of course jumped on that said maybe they should not go next year since you can't top best!  But, she already has big plans for next year so I'm sure it'll be ON!

Beautiful young lady and handsome Dad - can't get any better than that. Just curious, what kind of earrings did the Princess wear with her pretty dress? Aunt Me
