Church Tour

The princess and her Daddy left on July 4th for a road trip that had lots of ideas, but very few concrete plans.  It sorta turned into a church tour as the wound their way through the NC and TN mountains.

The first stop was Tweetsie for a few rides and then a firework show that I heard was pretty darn good.  Then it was off to Blowing Rock for a night in the hotel before heading out to Johnson City.

The first stop on the church tour was in Johnson City at the church that Doug's Dad was pastoring in the early to mid 70's.  She got to see the manse that he lived in for several years and the grass hill where he learned to ride his bike.

Then it was back to Asheville for some pool time which is always a big hit with the princess.

The first stop on Day 3 was Chimney Rock for hiking and playing in waterfalls. You will see that she got progressively wetter as the day went on.

They started trekking home from Chimney Rock stopping by the church his Dad pastored while Doug was in high school in the early 80's.  (Yep he's an old guy!) This church is in Bessemer City, NC.

And the final church stop was the church he was pastoring while Doug and I were dating in the 90's.  This church is in Gastonia, NC outside Charlotte.

Along the way there were fun stops at places like Fazolis, Krispy Kreme,  and Lunar Golf.  These two really now how to travel together.  I'm pretty sure someday I will be posting about how they drove across the country together.
