MLK Fun day

The last few years the princess and her Dad have taken the MLK Holiday to spend sometime playing in the mountains.  We have such little snow here that often this is the only time she will get a chance to touch the snow.  This year we have had a little winter weather, but they still took off in search of some serious sledding hills.

The first hill they found was outside Blowing Rock right off the Parkway.  They were the first to arrive so she got some time to try out the hill on her own.

You can see after some trips she had to start shedding clothes because it was getting warm!

She's pretty smart and always pulls out her Appalachian gear when they head to the hills.

They almost made it up to Beech Mountain where they had made a few sledding runs for kids so she got to make a few runs.  Apparently these were not as big a hit because with the other folks hanging out she had to wait in line!

As with any trip she takes with her Dad it's all about the food that Mom won't let her eat when she is at home, but Dad will when they are running around.  They got to eat up on Beech Mountain at Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria. It had a great view of the slopes and I got pictures sent to me of their food because it was so good.
