This evening as I fixed dinner I set the princess up with a stack of books for her reading time. Some were well above her level and some were right on. I told her that she could look at pictures in the harder books, but she had to read the easy ones out loud to me. She was really struggling with the harder books where I had simply asked her look at pictures.
Words uttered by a restless reader from the couch...
"I don't want to read, but I just can't help read the words." (Mom wins!)
